Itinerary

Day 1: Airport - Chilaw - Kandy

Arrival at Colombo airport then proceed to Visit Munneswaram Temple, where Rama prayed to Shiva after the war. Then visit Manavari Temple, the first place Rama installed a Shiva Lingam (Ramalingam). Proceed to Kandy.

Day 2: Kandy – Trincomalee

Travel to the east coast to visit Koneswaram Temple, a cliff-top temple built by Sage Agastya and worshipped by Ravana. Visit the Shankari Devi Shakti Peetham nearby.

Day 3: Trincomalee – Kandy

Return to Kandy. Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. In the evening, watch a Kandyan Cultural Show featuring fire-walking, reminiscent of the Agni Pariksha.

Day 4: Kandy - Ramboda - Nuwara Eliya

Stop at Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple in Ramboda, built on the hills where Hanuman started his search for Sita. See the 16-foot granite statue of Hanuman.

Day 5 :Nuwara Eliya (The Captivity)

Visit Seetha Amman Temple, built where Sita was held. See the giant “Hanuman footprints” by the river. Explore Ashoka Vatika (Hakgala Gardens) where Ravana kept Sita.

Day 6: Nuwara Eliya –Ella- Colombo

Visit Divurumpola Temple, the site of Sita’s Agni Pariksha. See Ravana Falls and the Ravana Caves in Ella before driving back to Colombo.

Day 7: Colombo – Departure

Visit the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, where Vibhishana was crowned King of Lanka by Lakshmana. Brief city shopping before your flight
