Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Tokyo

Arrive at Narita or Haneda Airport; meet your tour manager and transfer to your hotel via coach. Check-in and freshen up. Head to Ueno Park, home to over 1,000 cherry trees. It’s the most famous spot for a lively Hanami (flower viewing) atmosphere.Evening: Visit Chidorigafuchi Moat near the Imperial Palace. Walk along the 700m green path where trees illuminate at night, reflecting pink hues on the water.

Visit Asakusa Senso-ji Temple. Walk through Nakamise Street for Sakura-themed sweets (like pink mochi). Explore Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. This is a “must-visit” because it has many varieties of cherry trees that bloom at slightly different times, ensuring you see flowers. Photo stop at Shibuya Crossing and the Hachiko Statue. Experience Nakameguro (Meguro River). Walk along the canal lined with cherry trees and pink lanterns. It’s the most “Instagrammable” spot in Tokyo.

Travel by coach to the Fuji Five Lakes area (approx. 2 hours). Visit the Chureito Pagoda. Climb the steps for the iconic shot of the red pagoda, pink blossoms, and Mt. Fuji in the background. Stroll along the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchi. The cherry tree promenade here offers stunning lakeside views of the mountain. Return to Tokyo. Optional visit to Akihabara for electronics and anime shopping.

Board the Shinkansen (Bullet Train) to Kyoto (~2.5 hours). Watch for Mt. Fuji from the right-side window! Walk the Philosopher’s Path. This 2km stone path follows a canal lined with hundreds of cherry trees. It is arguably the most beautiful walk in Japan. Explore the Gion District. If you’re lucky, you might spot a Geisha heading to an appointment among the traditional wooden houses.

Visit Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) and the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. Travel to Nara Park. Feed the wild deer who live under a canopy of cherry blossoms. Visit Todai-ji Temple to see the Great Buddha. Evening: Visit Maruyama Park in Kyoto to see the famous “Gion Weeping Cherry Tree,” which is spectacularly lit up after sunset.

Morning: Short drive/train to Osaka. Visit Osaka Castle Park, which houses over 4,000 cherry trees. The contrast of the white castle walls and pink flowers is breathtaking. Visit the Umeda Sky Building for a bird’s-eye view of the city. Final celebration at Dotonbori. Enjoy the neon lights, the Glico Man sign, and famous street food like Takoyaki.
