Itinerary
Day 1: Ahmedabad Arrival & Local Heritage
Pickup from Ahmedabad Airport/Station. Start at Sabarmati Ashram, Gandhi’s former headquarters. Visit the Adalaj Stepwell, a 15th-century subterranean masterpiece. Later, visit the Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, famous for its intricate “Tree of Life” stone lattice window Head to Akshardham Temple in Gandhinagar for the evening laser show
Day 2: UNESCO Wonders (Modhera & Patan)
Drive to Modhera Sun Temple (approx. 100 km from Ahmedabad). This 11th-century temple is designed to catch the first rays of the sun. It features a massive sacred reservoir (Surya Kund) and 52 carved pillars. Continue to Patan (25 km from Modhera). Explore Rani Ki Vav (The Queen’s Stepwell), a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its seven levels of intricate deity carvings. Visit a local workshop to see the traditional Patola Silk weaving, a rare double-ikat technique
Day 3: Sidhpur's Architectural Gems
Explore Sidhpur (approx. 30 km from Patan). Walk through the Bohra Havelis (Vohrawad), which are known for their pastel-coloured facades and European-style wooden balconies. Visit the Rudra Mahalaya Temple ruins, a grand Shiva temple complex from the 12th century. Visit Bindu Sarovar, one of the five sacred lakes in India, and the Shri Sthal Museum to see regional archaeological artifacts. Drive back to Ahmedabad (approx. 103 km).
Day 4: Old City Culture & Departure
Join the Old City Heritage Walk to see traditional “Pols” (gated housing clusters). Visit the 15th-century Jama Masjid : Drop-off at Ahmedabad Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey
